After being honoured for four years with the highest award, we have now received a new gold medal under the category South & Central America -includes Caribbean in the Global Awards for Excellence in BPM & Workflow.
Every year, Future Strategies Inc., together with Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC), BPM Focus and BPM.com, gives awards to the best implementations in five regions: Europe, Pacific Rim, Middle East and Africa, South & Central America-includes Caribbean-, and North America. These prestigious institutions are the most respected authorities in the BPM field.
This time PECTRA Technology has presented an implementation developed for its client QUALA S.A. (Colombia). QUALA S.A. is a multinational company dedicated to the production and commercialization of consumer goods. It is also one the 100 largest companies in Colombia. The solution adopted by QUALA S.A. was PECTRA BPM Suite (acquiring licenses for 23 processes and unlimited users) and it involved 304 users from administrative sectors.
Implementation’s main benefits
Since the implementation, QUALA S.A. has attained the following goals: standardization of the way in which processes are carried out to guarantee an efficient result which is aligned with the company’s policies; availability of sufficient historical information and reduction of expenses and money reclassifications resulting from inappropriate execution of processes.
This new recognition of our BPM solution positions us as a sound company with a strong presence in the market.
The job done for QUALA S.A. not only had as a goal to attain an optimal implementation at a technological level but also to contribute to better our client’s business areas bringing life to the company’s procedures through the active participation of the people in each area, and ensuring a standard way of doing things.
About the BPM & Workflow Awards
The winners in each region were selected by a board of judges formed by a representative of each one of the companies sponsoring these awards. During the ceremony, each region received the gold or silver award, acknowledging those companies which contributed to the achievement of their clients’ strategic business goals through the implementation of a BPM platform.

On November 19th and 20th, the First Meeting for PECTRA Technology’s PARTNERS was held. The purpose was to share the Management Results for 2009 and to present the Commercial Strategy facing the year 2010.
The digital format was chosen (rather than presential modality) to ensure the simultaneous presence of all the representatives of our wide net of business partners, thus covering the whole of Latin America by means of one single action.
As a result, more than 19 companies from the PECTRA Technology net of partners in LATAM participated.
Through a WebEx presentation, and with the participation of the PECTRA Technology’s senior management, partners had access to highly relevant and valuable information to effectively distribute the product, and boost sales during the year 2010.

We would like to inform you that last July we launched the Annual Partner Certification Program with the purpose of training our business partners, by means of practical and theoretical tools, in our solutions, Commercial and Marketing management processes and market trends. In addition, we provide thorough training in PECTRA BPM Suite, our Process Management tool.
The process of certification, in charge of Ms Judith Garro, an engineer from PECTRA Consulting Services, consists of three stages: Training, Evaluation and Certification.

1. Training is implemented by means of different web seminars, through PECTRA ON-LINE’s Training Center.
2. After said training, four evaluation tests are carried out, one on commercial topics and one on each technical/product topic.
3. Finally, a consultant will inform the partner about the results obtained, and the opportunities detected for improvement, also indicating whether the company has succeeded in fulfilling the certification.
The certification is mandatory for all PECTRA Technology Partners, and two profiles need to be certified: technical and commercial.
Main benefits of the CertificationFor our business partners, the certification allows them to:1. Carry out product demonstrations and business meetings independently;
2. Provide their teams with commercial and technical knowledge that reduce response time for queries from both customers and prospects;
3. Access to product and company documentation.

We would like to share the achievements obtained during our three weeks in Latin America, where we visited our existing Clients, Business Partners and recruited new ones.

Managing by Processes, implies developing, organizing and managing a business structure and its functioning in terms of processes: it is a methodology which involves people, their work and performance, the technology they use and their goals. Business Process Management (BPM) is the business discipline which aims at improving a company’s efficiency through the systematic management of its business processes. BPM is used to modify the organizational paradigms to improve business competitiveness and ROI.
This methodology is currently seen to prevail in different sectors due to the operational efficiency achieved and its versatility to adjust to the new requirements imposed by both context and clients. From a technological perspective, the IT suite developed to successfully implement the concept of BPM, is the BPMS. This is a solution which provides the infrastructure a business organization needs to translate its strategic decisions into concrete action plans. Contrary to other implementations used in the past, BPM covers the corporation as a unit, optimizing the totality of its processes and enabling a supervised and continuous improvement while reducing operational risks and increasing productivity.

During the month of May, the Marketing team of Pectra Technology presented the tactical activities to be carried out and which aim mainly at consolidating Pectra BPM Suite’s positioning in the region as well as increasing the company’s commercial contact base.
Representatives from Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Chile, Peru and Argentina participated.
In the course of over 50 minutes we were able to exchange different points of view on the proposed agenda, which proved of great interest for all participants.

Basically, we can define ROI (Return on Investment) as the rate or indicator resulting from establishing the relationship between benefits obtained or expected as the result of a long term investment project, and the cost of such project. It is undoubtedly one of the most largely used indicators to support the decision-making process when examining an investment project, although it is not the only one. In fact, the IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and the NPV (Net Present Value) contribute concepts such as the present value of future cash flows, which the ROI does not contemplate.
